We are pleased to share details of a free health and safety awareness day at Trinity Park in Ipswich on Wednesday 26th October 2016.

If you are a self-employed builder, manager or run a small construction company, this free half day event is a must. Up to date and practical advice to help you get to grips with health and safety on site.

2015 CDM regulations and guidance now available from the HSE website

The draft CDM 2015 Regulations, and ‘L’ series CDM guidance are now available from the HSE website. Industry guidance can also be downloaded from the CITB website www.citb.co.uk/cdmregs
Note these will be draft documents and subject to amendments before coming into force on 6th April 2015.
There will be a requirement for all construction work to have a construction phase plan (regardless of size and nature of the project) and that domestic client work will be in scope
Additional guidance on construction phase plans for contractors working on small scale, routine and domestic projects will be provided by HSE in the form of a busy builder leaflet and plan template.

There has been ongoing reviews and publications of updated guidance, ACoPs and info sheets following theProfessor Ragnar Löfstedt report. These include:
L146 – Consultation with Employees Regulations 2014.
GEIS6 - The selection, management and use of mobile elevating work platforms
HSG 136 - A guide to workplace transport safety
The HSE has also released several new ‘Busy Builder’ leaflets, aimed at small builders or small construction sites. These include: Fragile roofs (also for clients), Keeping a tidy site and ‘Protecting the public’.

CD261 – CDM Regs 2007 – ended on 06-06-14 (a lot of press recently regarding HSE ignoring certain stakeholder comments). Still planned to be implemented 06-04-15.
